ICGA CONVENTION SURVEY

There has been a fair amount of discussion lately regarding what can be done to get members who seldom or never attend a convention to attend. This was discussed in detail at the recently concluded ICGA convention in St. Louis. In an effort to further this discussion, I invite all of you who attend and especially those of you who do not attend to take a few moments to answer the short questionnaire that follows. Your answers will be kept confidential and you may remain completely anonymous. We really would like to see more of you at the convention and hope you will get more involved. This is one way that your involvement will be of a great help. Carnival glass conventions and even the clubs themselves will not survive if younger members with new insights do not become involved! We really are interested in your comments.

1. Would you be more likely to attend a convention if it were held Thursday through Sunday morning? (as opposed to the normal Wednesday - Saturday)

2. What range of hotel rates would you be most comfortable with?

3. Would it be helpful to have activities for children?

4. Would a child care service during some of the activities make it more likely that you might attend?

5. What type of activities might convince you to attend? (choose as many as you like)

If other, please specify:

  Seminars
  Displays
  Games
  Discussions
  Show and Tell
  Other (see left)

6. Would arranged activities (something of local interest) outside the hotel be of interest?

7. Do you think it is better to hold the convention in the same location every year, or should we change locations as much as possible?

8. Do we need a banquet dinner?

9. If a banquet is held, what do you feel the price should be?

10. Would you be more willing to attend if we would arrange to have a person or couple available to show you around for part of the convention?

11. What is the main reason you do not attend conventions?
Choose as many as you wish.
  Too far from home
  Travel expenses are too high
  Rooms too expensive
  Convention is too long
Comes at the wrong time of the year
  Would not feel comfortable
       (makes me nervous)
