The amazing swimming pool at this year's hotel.

Hotel
The host hotel for the 2012 Annual Convention is the Crowne Plaza, 3000 South Dirksen Pkwy, Springfield, IL 62703.  Our room rate is $99 per night.  This is a great hotel with lots of amenities, including an indoor pool and whirlpool.  Unfortunately, this hotel does not allow pets other than service animals.  However, if you are traveling with your pet, the Holiday Inn Express located only 50 feet from the Crowne Plaza allows pets and includes a breakfast with your hotel room.  The Crowne Plaza features two restaurants and a friendly hotel bar.

Reservations
To reserve your room, please call
217-529-7777 and tell them your group rate code is "ICG."  If you are traveling with your pet, please contact the Holiday Inn Express at
217-529-7771 and give them the same group rate code.  If you have any issues with reservations, please contact Brian Pitman by email or by phone at 785-274-9105.  He will be able to help you with your reservations.

Display Room
Our display room this year features Small Plates (6" - 8").  Once again, our goal is to offer a room filled with interesting, beautiful and unique glass for viewing, education and admiration.  As usual, we are relying on our members to bring some excellent glass for the display, which will be setup on Thursday morning, and then open to the general public on Thursday, as well as Friday morning.  Armed security will safeguard the glass on Thursday night, and you will be able to pick up your glass at noon on Friday.  The display room will also be the site for the Silent-Mega Auctions, the Annual Business Meeting and other seminars.

If you are interested in bringing glass for display, please fill out this form with what glass you are willing to display, and return to Brian Pitman no later than April 1, 2012.  Send the form to:

Brian Pitman, President
International Carnival Glass Association
10750 NW 13th St.
Topeka, KS 66615

You may also email him a list at bpitman@woodsland.com.

Banquet Buffet
This year, our banquet dinner returns to the buffet format, and what an amazing buffet we have for you.  The cost is $40 per person, and is "all you can eat" style.  Here is our yummy menu for the buffet this year:

Stuffed Pork Chop with Pork Gravy
New York Strip Loin with a Cabernet Reduction
Chicken Piccata with Lemon and Caper Sauce
A variety of potatoes, starches and seasonal vegetables
Mozzarella and Tomato salad, a tossed salad and Sliced Seasonal Fruit
Assorted desserts

Mega-Silent Auction
ICGA will be taking consigned glass for its Mega-Silent Auction.  Here are the basics: you can ask ICGA to put in a piece of carnival glass for you (ICGA Membership Required), anywhere from $10 in value to $100,000 if you wish. You can assign a reserve price.  That reserve price will be listed on the Silent Auction form.  If your piece beats the reserve and sells, ICGA will take a 5% commission for the piece. If it does not meet the reserve price, ICGA will take a 1% commission of the reserve price for marketing and attempting to sell your piece.  We will have three of these silent auctions at our convention, one for each day (Wednesday - Friday).  If you are interested in consigning a piece or two, simply contact Brian Pitman by email.  We are looking for a great mix of quality and value.

Auction
Our Auction this year by the Seeck Auction Company features the spectacular collection of ICGA Members Bob and Geneva Leonard of Michigan.  The Leonards collected for many years and put together a collection of great color and rarity.  We are incredibly excited to be able to offer this collection at our convention auction!
